Every morning do you wake up and find hundreds of emails in your inbox?
It is great to receive coupons and discounts from companies, upcoming events, monthly newsletters, tips from beauty to eating healthy. You have 1 hour to get through 200 emails and feel guilty because you delete most of the "extra" emails and attempt to get to your business emails that actually make you money to answer.
You have two options. One don't check your email at all and lose business inquiries and possible clients OR there is another solution!
This is one of the best tips I learned from George Del Barrio during his Social Media 101 class so get ready.
Set up a second email that you can sign up for all your upcoming events, updates from companies in your industry,
networking events, emails for coupons/discounts and the "extra" emails that don't have to check on a daily basis.
Your main email keep for business inquiries, personal communication with friends, family and important emails that you need to answer within 24-48 hours. I love to take a couple of hours on either a Sunday AM with a cup of coffee or a nice relaxing evening hibernating at home.
I can go through all the "extra" emails and take my time and not feel guilty because I have to delete them because I am in a hurry during my work day. I have my calendar in front of me and I can write down the events that I would like to attend and plan my week.
Next time the friend asks if you are attending their event that they just emailed to you, you don't have to feel guilty because you deleted it and did not read it!
