What's Love got to do with it? (I can't help but hear Tina Turner's voice as I type these words.) It's ALL about Love. Every single thing we do is about Love and our journey to experiencing it in every waking moment. We look for it through a job, or partner, or hobby. We're even looking for it while we busy ourselves with things to do. It doesn't matter whether we're conscious of the journey or not; whether we're deliberate or distracted; whether happy or cranky; Love is
still the goal.
Love exists everywhere in all directions all at the same time. Love is in every moment, the light and the dark. In fact, the only thing that exists is Love. If Love is the only thing that exists, how do we come to think or feel we don't have it in our lives? The answer is likely that we've forgotten we are the source of it. Every physical cell and every organism constitutes a point of consciousness of Love. Love emanates from every cell and organism. You are the source of Love
in your life. I am the source of Love in my life. We are each the sources of Love in our lives. Together, we create a community of Love.
How do we experience or feel the Love that we are in every moment? One way to begin to feel the Love within us is by recalling loving memories. Other ways to re-acquaint us with the feelings of Love include immersing ourselves in things that appear to make us feel good: walking in nature, hugging a child or pet, an enjoyable job, a significant other, a hobby, or even busying ourselves with lots of things to do. These things can kick-start the feelings of Love within us. They can re-familiarize us with how Love feels, no matter what may be associated with It.
For some people, these things keep them connected to Love. For others, it takes meditation (in any of its various forms: yoga, being still, ironing, creative expression...). How you connect with Love depends, I suppose, on where you are on the path back to It. There is no good or bad nor is there any competition - we are all on the same path going in the same direction all at our own pace.
To embrace the full impact of the Love we each are, we must look at if and how we are resisting it. Resistance is good in as much as it tells us we have associations with Love that are preventing us from fully experiencing It. Many are addicted to tension, resistance and anxiety. Thankfully, there are techniques like acceptance, inquiry, and breathing that can help us work through the resistance toward allowing ourselves to be fully in the world and radiate the Love we are.
As we make our way back home to Love, we reconnect our awareness of each other as a community; a community that expands the experience of who we are.
"There is no relationship of greater importance to achieve than the relationship between you, in your physical body, right here and now, and the Soul/Source/God (Love) from which you have come. If you tend to that relationship, first and foremost, you will then, and only then, have the stable footing to proceed into other relationships. Your relationship with your own body; your relationship with money; your relationship with your parents, children, grandchildren, the people you work with, your government, your world . . . will all fall swiftly and easily into alignment once you tend to this fundamental, primary relationship first." - Abraham
